Designer's Statement:

This is a concept logo for a friend's blog/website: "Bitter Asian Men", an extremely satirical (and humorous) website that delves into the portrayal and opinions of Asian men, in Western culture and media. The website is currently offline (formerly hosted on [link]), and may be offline indefinitely.

I had offered to re-design my friend's website logo, for one reason: His original logo was actually that of the World Wildlife Foundation (a panda), modified with a teardrop coming out of one of its eyes. This is obviously grounds for a lawsuit, and my logo was a perfect solution - without compromising the familiarity of the website's regular visitors.

The goal of the re-designed logo is to keep the same idea (the panda as the iconic symbol), while creating an entirely original logo with unique elements altogether. To achieve this, a stylized head of a panda was created, in addition to the creation of an original, highly-modern, sans-serif typeface. The end result: An elegant logo that possesses a strong gestalt, yet simple enough that it easily gets its point across.
